Do you work with advertising or creative agencies?

Absolutely. Having worked for an advertising agency myself, I know exactly what’s required.
So send me your client’s copy and I’ll make it sound great and you look good!

How does good copywriting give your company the edge?
In today’s competitive marketplace, your business copy can make the difference between
reaching the right customer or totally missing the mark. What’s more, you could spend a lot
of money on your advertising but if it’s poorly written, your message won’t get through to
your target market.

By looking objectively at your business, I can identify strengths and weaknesses that may
have been overlooked, and gain a sound understanding of your clients and competitors. I then
provide you with original and persuasive copy that gets the right message to the right people.
This gives your company the edge.

How can copy editing and proof reading help your business?
Editing your existing copy can improve and clarify your message. It ensures the language and
content accurately reflects your business objectives and is relevant to your audience.

Editing and proof reading also checks your existing copy for accuracy and consistency on things
such as layout, spelling, punctuation, grammar and vocabulary.

Sad as it sounds, I actually love editing and proof reading. I know, I know – I need to get out more!

What makes me qualified to write your copy?
Good question. Well, I have nearly 10 years combined experience working as both a Freelance
Copywriter
and an Account Manager for a specialist catalogue and direct marketing agency.
This means you’ll benefit from my acute understanding of the advertising production process,
the creative environment and how to maintain great client relationships.

Furthermore, I’ve written copy for some of Australia’s leading brands, whether it’s been websites,
brochures, direct mail, ads, newsletters or corporate videos. Some of these clients include AGL,
AMP, Westpac, Zurich, Clearasil, Macquarie Telecom, Oral-B, Snap Printing, Freedom, HCF,
Sealy, Cochlear, The Cancer Council, Howards Storage World and McGrath Real Estate.

How does the copywriting process work?
First and foremost, I try to make the process as simple as possible for you. Leave me to write
the copy so you can get back to working on other areas of your business. Therefore, as a rough
guide, the process works like this:

  1. Call or email me to discuss your requirements.
  2. If possible, send me a written brief of what’s required and when.
  3. I provide you with an upfront quote for the job.
  4. Once the quote is approved, I get to work. Work includes lots and lots of research, as this
is crucial in understanding the brief, the market, your customers and even your competitors.
  5. The copy is sent back to you for review.
  6. Amendments are made if necessary.
  7. Copy is approved and submitted. Hooray! You get professional copywriting for your business
that you didn’t have to slave over for days, weeks or months, and I get paid!

What about face-to-face meetings?
As copywriting is all about the written word, there is often no need to have time-consuming meetings.
Phone and email work beautifully. They have to because I have clients in different States of Australia
where face-to-face meetings aren’t possible.

Having said all this, there are occasions when we’ll need to sit down to discuss a project. This usually
happens either to put a face to a name for a new client or at the start of a larger job. In these cases,
I’m more than happy to meet up.

What’s the difference between copywriting and copyright?
Copywriting is the art of writing text for advertising or promotional material.
Copyright is a legal term pertaining to the creation of original work such as music, movies etc.
They are two totally separate things.
